Mumbai: Man Rapes Married Woman Repeatedly, Extorts Money By Blackmailing Victim; FIR lodged

A 48-year-old guy has been arrested in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, on suspicion of sexually abusing a married woman and forcing her to give him money.

In accordance with a formal statement released on Saturday, the accused, an Airoli resident, first contacted the victim in May. He allegedly said that he had personal video footage of her.

According to reports, the accused threatened the woman to show those videos to her husband and family if she refused give him sexual favours. Since their first encounter, the accused has repeatedly raped the victim in different settings. Additionally, he is accused of extorting Rs 50,000 from her in exchange for keeping the compromising videos a secret.

The police responded quickly to the woman’s allegation by filing a case against the accused on Friday. He is charged of rape, extortion, and other offences under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code. According to the official source, the accused was subsequently detained by the police in connection with the case. The victim’s identity is not revealed as per the directives from the Supreme Court in sexual assault cases.
