Patna: A grieving man was filled with happiness when he heard the voice of her missing daughter on a phone call saying “Papa, main abhi zinda hoon (Papa, I am alive)”. This happened days after when he had cremated another body by mistake assuming it of hers.
As per police, Anshu Kumari resided in Akbarpur police station area in Purnia went missing nearly a month back. The girl was not found despite the family’s diligent search. The authorities in a nearby canal found a body last week, Anshu’s family recognized their own daughter’s body because of the clothes she was wearing and her face was bloated beyond recognition.
After the news went viral on social media Anshu made a video call to her father Binod Mandal revealing the fact that she is alive. She also disclosed that she eloped with her boyfriend to marry him and is currently staying at his in-law’s house Jankinagar area of Banmankhi block in Purnia.
According to SHO, the identity of the girl cremated mistakenly was identified and it could be a case of honour killing. SHO further mentioned, “We raided the house of the deceased’s parents, but they were found absconding” speculating it as a case of honour killing.
