In preparation for the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government is undertaking an extensive beautification initiative aimed at transforming Prayagraj into an inviting and vibrant destination for millions of devotees and visitors.
Following the enhancement of city roads and walls with mythological artwork, the focus has now shifted to revitalizing major parks across the city.
With an allocation of Rs 495.97 lakh, the government is likely to enhance six key parks, creating tranquil spaces for guests to relax and connect with the spiritual ambiance of the event.
The city’s Garden Department is spearheading this initiative, which includes the installation of modern lighting and the development of various garden features.
Revitalizing Green Spaces
Deputy Director of the Garden Department, Krishna Mohan Chaudhary, announced that beautification efforts are already underway in parks such as Shahid Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, Khusro Bagh, Circuit House Park, Board of Revenue Park, High Court Complex Park, and TB Sapru Hospital Park.
Each park will receive distinct enhancements aimed at improving visitor experience.
Additionally, Shahid Chandra Shekhar Azad Park is likely to receive the largest share of funding at Rs 276.89 lakh, followed by Khusro Bagh with Rs 59.09 lakh and the High Court Complex Park with Rs 44.18 lakh.
The Circuit House Park, Board of Revenue Park, and TB Sapru Hospital Park will also receive substantial investments, ensuring comprehensive improvements across all selected locations.
Modern Amenities & Landscaping
The beautification plans include the introduction of rose gardens, arbours, and decorative rockeries to elevate the aesthetic appeal of the parks.
Additionally, the implementation of state-of-the-art lighting systems—featuring bollard lights, LED sting lights, solar-powered decorative lights, and LED rope lights—will enhance the parks’ evening charm, making them inviting spaces for visitors during the Maha Kumbh festivities.
Enhancing The Visitor Experience
The revitalization of Prayagraj’s parks is part of a broader strategy to ensure that attendees of the Maha Kumbh not only enjoy spiritual experiences at the main event but also have access to beautifully landscaped areas to unwind.
