In the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh’s Bamori town, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is purportedly vandalised by unknown individuals, a police official reported on Thursday.
The official stated that the incident occurred on the intervening night of Wednesday–Thursday and that the miscreants also removed the “Shivling” from the temple and threw it outside.
The town, which is roughly 40 km from the district office, saw a road blockade by some enraged by the incident, who then demanded that the perpetrators be taken into custody right away.
Heavy security was deployed in the area to maintain peace, Bamori police station in-charge Arvind Gaud said.

The temple is located outside of the town of Bamori.
It is said that during the night, five people desecrated the temple. According to the official, the locals notified the police as soon as they learned about the incident.
He claimed that the town’s main square was the scene of a “chakka jam,” or road blockade, by the enraged locals, who demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

He said that a probe is ongoing into the incident and that a formal complaint has been filed against five unidentified individuals.
