The next hearing of alleged railway land-for-job scam case will take place on March 21 in Rouse Avenue Court. RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and several of his family members names are included in the supplementary charge sheet filed in the case. Two other accused are Ashok Kumar and Babita and Bhola Yadav who were Lalu Prasad’s personal secretary.
Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav were granted interim bail by a Delhi court until their next hearing in relation to the Land-for-Jobs corruption case.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) said in a release that Amit Katyal, Rabri Devi, Misha Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Hridyanand Chaudhary had previously received summons from a PMLA court to appear on February 9, 2024, for a further trial in the alleged “land for job scam.”
In the alleged scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed a prosecution complaint (PC) on January 1, 2024, before the Special Court (PMLA), New Delhi, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, against Amit Katyal, Rabri Devi, Misha Bharti, Hema Yadav, Hridyanand Chaudhary, and two companies: A K Infosystems Private Limited, A B Exports Pvt. Ltd.
The prime agency began its probe based on a formal complaint (FIR) filed by the CBI on a land-for-job scam. The complaint claimed that Lalu Yadav, the Railway Minister at the time, had engaged in corruption for appointment of Group D substitutes for Indian Railways between 2004 and 2009.
According to the FIR, the candidates were instructed to give land as payment for employment with Indian Railways. A charge sheet has also been filed by the CBI.
