Kejriwal’s Lawyer Rejects ED’s Claim, Says Only 3 Times Mangoes Sent To Him In Jail, Diabetic Since 22 Years

Arvind Kejriwal Vs ED News: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in a money laundering case related to liquor policy, is lodged in Tihar Jail. His sugar level has increased a lot, ED and Kejriwal’s lawyers are face to face on this issue. Both sides have their own arguments.

When the hearing started today on the case of Arvind Kejriwal’s demand for diet and insulin in jail, lawyer Juheb Hussain, appearing on behalf of ED, said before Judge Kaveri Baweja that the report is awaited from Tihar Jail administration. The court asked how much time would it take? Then the ED said that it would take 10 minutes.

A petition was filed on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal regarding the demand for insulin. The correspondent told that Ramesh Gupta was present in the court on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal, while Abhishek Manu Singhvi remained connected through video conferencing.

‘I have diabetes since 22 years, take insulin every day’

The court asked Kejriwal to give a copy of the petition to everyone. The court said that we do not yet know about the application, what has been demanded in the application. Advocate Abhishek Manu Sindhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, said that we had given a copy of the application to ED. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that Kejriwal has been suffering from diabetes for 22 years, he takes insulin every day.

Advocate Zoheb Hussain, appearing for ED, demanded that a copy of the petition be made available to him. Kejriwal’s lawyer Ramesh Gupta said what does ED have to do with this? This is a matter between the applicant and the jail authorities. Arvind Kejriwal is in judicial custody. He is not in ED custody.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that everyone knows that Kejriwal is suffering from diabetes. He is given insulin every day. On March 21, ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal. Since then I am unable to give insulin. He is repeatedly asking whether my doctor can monitor (the sugar level), this monitoring should be continuous.

Arvind Kejriwal had home cooked food 48 times in jail

Kejriwal’s lawyer said that Kejriwal should be allowed to consult the same doctor under whom he was being treated before his arrest. The lawyer also said that Kejriwal should be examined regularly so that his alarming blood sugar can be controlled. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that home-cooked food was sent to the jail 48 times, out of which mangoes were sent only 3 times. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that after April 8, mangoes were not sent to Kejriwal for eating. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that out of 48 times he ate the entire Navratri meal only once.
