The Allahabad  High Court  court has rejected the petition demanding worship of Naugraha Shivling and a share in the offerings of the devotees.  The division bench of comprising Mr.Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and Mr. Justice Prashant Kumar while hearing the petition of Jitendra Giri and others, held  that the petition is confusing and misleading.

The petitioner in his petition said  that there is Naugraha Shivling and Shanidev temple near Kashi Vishwanath temple. During the construction of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor, the Nine Planets Shivling and Shanidev Temple were renovated. Naugraha Shivling was included in the trust and compensation was given in its lieu.

The former  Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust had given him the right to sit in the Naugraha and Shanidev temples, perform puja and take offerings from the devotees. The Chief Executive Officer who came after him banned sitting and worshiping in the Naugraha Shivling temple. He gave a representation against this to DM Varanasi, but it has not been resolved yet.

Government advocate Vineet Sankalp argued that the priests had taken full compensation during the corridor construction in exchange for including the Naugraha temple in the corridor.

Shanidev temple has been renovated. Devotees have been given the right to worship and make offerings in the Shanidev temple, but they have no right over the Naugraha Shivling. Therefore, the claim of the petitioners is false. Now they cannot be given this right. The court rejected the petition considering the facts and circumstances.
