JIIT hosted a one-day national workshop, ‘Engineering Education in the Next Techade’, bringing together top academicians, educationists, and tech leaders.

The event, held at the university’s Sector-62 campus near Delhi, was marked by insightful discussions on the evolving landscape of engineering education.

The workshop began with a warm welcome by JIIT Chancellor Manoj Gaur, who emphasized his father Jaiprakash Gaur’s vision during the construction of the Yamuna Expressway.

“He believed this would become Noida’s lifeline, and today, it’s a hub for engineering and technical institutions,” said Gaur.

AICTE Chairman Leads Keynote Discussions

Prof TG Sitharam, AICTE Chairman, along with vice-chancellors and directors, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

The session began with tributes to Goddess Saraswati, followed by technical sessions focused on AI, inclusive education, and digital transformation.

Technical Sessions: Innovation, Inclusion & Intelligence

IIT Roorkee Director Prof KK Pant discussed AI’s growing influence in engineering education, focusing on tools and challenges.

He was joined by Prof Ranjan Bose (IIT Delhi) and DTU Vice Chancellor Prof Prateek Sharma, who emphasized building curriculum aligned with AI-driven industries.

The second session focused on holistic education.

IIT Ropar Director Prof Rajeev Ahuja highlighted the importance of research in future engineering programs.

Prof Ranjana Jha, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, spoke about empowering women in tech through education, intelligence, and inclusion.

Online Learning & Digital Integration In Focus

The third session delved into Education 4.0 and online learning models.

IGNOU VC Prof Uma Kanjilal explained how digital models are redefining traditional learning environments.

Prof Vignesh Muthuvijayan from IIT Madras showcased their BS program and NPTEL platform, which aims to democratize quality technical education through accessible online content.

Prof G Sundar from BITS Hyderabad highlighted innovation, policy support, and the need for academia-industry collaboration in education.

The event reaffirmed JIIT’s commitment to modern, inclusive, and globally relevant education.
