Indresh Kumar Urges Respect For Constitution, Calls For National Unity At Lucknow Conference

Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) guide Indresh Kumar called for respect for the Constitution and national unity at a workers’ conference in Lucknow on Sunday. More than 1,000 workers attended the event.

Kumar criticised the politics of Rahul Gandhi, the Opposition and the group referred to in the press release as the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). He said political ambitions must not override national interests or undermine constitutional institutions.

Referring to Bangladesh and Pakistan, he warned against violence, extremism and social divisions. He urged workers to promote patriotism, brotherhood and mutual trust.

The organisation plans to hold 12 programmes across Uttar Pradesh, including 10 awareness initiatives and two conferences focused on Sufism. The programmes will promote nationalism, education, social responsibility, peace and communal harmony.

Kumar said workers should demonstrate honesty, courteous speech and strong character. He also stressed resolving family disputes through dialogue and reconciliation, highlighting women’s dignity and children’s welfare.

“If you must divorce something, divorce the bottle of intoxicants; if you want to love someone, love your wife at home,” he said, reiterating the message, “Not divorce, but reconciliation; not divorce, but love.”

Education and Women’s Participation in Nation-Building

Dr Shahid Akhtar emphasised education, national identity and dialogue, urging families to prioritise children’s learning. Mohammad Afzal said the Manch was not a political party and sought to strengthen humanity and social unity.

Dr Shalini Ali highlighted women’s role in nation-building and cited Lucknow’s Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb as an example of shared cultural harmony.

Syed Raza Hussain Rizvi also stressed religious respect and education, while Girish Juyal reiterated the slogan, “We may eat half a meal, but we will educate our children.”

Kumar called for diplomatic engagement rather than war, referring to the United States, Iran and Israel. Speakers urged workers to promote education, mutual respect and constitutional principles to support India’s unity and progress.
