New Delhi, August 18: Indresh Kumar, Chief Patron of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) and National Executive Member of the RSS, addressed a Raksha Bandhan program at the Constitution Club in New Delhi. Kumar emphasized the importance of implementing a Secular Civil Code (Uniform Civil Code – UCC) to ensure national unity and integrity. He argued that the UCC would promote equality and goodwill across society.
Advocacy for a Secular Civil Code
Kumar supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent call for a Uniform Civil Code, made from the Red Fort on Independence Day. He argued that the UCC is essential for eliminating discrimination caused by diverse personal laws. Kumar stressed that a unified legal system would benefit all citizens, particularly women and marginalized groups.
Concerns Over Bangladesh and Kolkata Incidents
Kumar expressed deep concern over human rights violations against minority communities in Bangladesh. He called for international intervention and criticized Indian leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, for their inaction. Kumar also condemned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the recent attack on a doctor in Kolkata, accusing her of insensitivity and failing to address the violence under her administration.
Commitment to Reclaim Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK)
Kumar reaffirmed his commitment to reclaiming Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) as part of India. He condemned Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and called for decisive action. Kumar also declared Kailash Mansarovar as part of India and expressed a strong intention to secure its return.
Focus on National Unity and Integrity
Kumar called for concrete measures to safeguard the nation’s unity and integrity. He emphasized the need for brotherhood, mutual respect, and harmony to maintain societal peace. His statements are expected to have a significant impact on Indian politics and society.

Shahid Akhtar, National Convenor of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, highlighted the importance of social harmony and inclusivity. He stressed that unity among all religions and communities is essential for a progressive society. Akhtar urged everyone to work together and overcome differences to advance national progress.
During the Raksha Bandhan event, many women tied Rakhi to Indresh Kumar, who honored them with gifts. The gathering included Shahid Akhtar, Shalini Ali, Shahid Saeed, Delhi State Convenor Haji Sabreen, Co-Convenor Khurshid Razaka, Imran Chaudhary, Shahnaz Afzal, and over 500 women from the women’s wing, among other notable attendees.
