Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government, the Allahabad Museum in Prayagraj will unveil a newly renovated gallery dedicated to the voices and works of Hindi literary giants.

This unique gallery, the first of its kind in the world, promises to offer an extraordinary experience for pilgrims and visitors alike.

For the first time, attendees at the Maha Kumbh will have the rare opportunity to not only witness but also hear the immortal voices of revered Hindi poets and writers such as:

  • Sumitranandan Pant,
  • Mahadevi Varma,
  • Harivansh Rai Bachchan,
  • Ramdhari Singh Dinkar,
  • Maithili Sharan Gupta,

The Allahabad Museum, guided by Deputy Curator Dr Rajesh Mishra, is working swiftly to bring this extraordinary project to life.

As part of the preparations, extensive audio-visual resources will however be available, with videos and recordings of the poets reciting their works, creating an immersive environment for all visitors.

Dr Rajesh Mishra further shared his excitement about the gallery, stating, “The opportunity to hear these legendary poets recite their works will be a remarkable experience for visitors. We want to ensure that the beauty and depth of their poetry can be fully appreciated, and we are working closely with Film Division, Doordarshan, and Akashvani to present a curated selection of their finest works.”

This gallery will not only serve as a tribute to the literary greats but will also become a major attraction for global visitors, offering them a rare chance to engage with the rich literary traditions of India in a way that has never been done before.

Visitors will be able to experience not just the written word but also the voices that have immortalized these writers in Indian culture and history.
