HM Amit Shah Tells Rahul Gandhi Congress Won’t Return To Power For Next 30 Years

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, claiming that the Congress would not return to power for the next 30 years.

Shah made the remarks during the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of Yamuna revival projects in New Delhi.

Shah accused Gandhi and his associates of using allegations of ‘vote chori’ to protect votes allegedly cast by illegal infiltrators.

He questioned the Congress’s criticism of electoral processes, arguing that the party accepted voter lists and the Election Commission of India (ECI) when it won elections in Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu but challenged them after defeats.

The Home Minister also criticised the INDIA bloc’s protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He urged opposition leaders to accept electoral mandates and engage directly with voters instead of staging demonstrations.

Taking a dig at Gandhi’s reported foreign visits, Shah said he remained among the people of India and reiterated his prediction that the Congress would not form the government for three decades.

Shah accused the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of failing to address Yamuna pollution during their respective periods in power. He said the BJP, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, would work to clean the river up to the Sangam.

Targeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Shah alleged that he had prevented Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from working effectively. He predicted that AAP would lose its political presence in Punjab and pledged to eradicate the state’s drug menace by 2029.
