HM Amit Shah Says PM Modi Faces No Corruption Allegations During Public Life

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political opponents could not accuse him of corruption. Shah made the remarks during a birthday event in Vadnagar, Gujarat.

Addressing a gathering at Sharmishtha Lake, Shah launched the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark PM Modi’s birthday and 25 years in public life. The campaign will continue until October 7.

Shah said PM Modi had completed 25 years in public life without facing corruption allegations from his political opponents.

“For 25 years of public life, there has not been a single stain on his kurta. Even his opponents, even those in the Opposition, cannot accuse Modi ji of corruption,” Shah said.

Shah compared PM Modi’s political journey with a lotus that remained clean despite difficult surroundings. He linked this record to Modi’s personal simplicity and family background.

“I have worked with PM Modi closely from his organisational years in Gujarat through his tenure as chief minister and subsequently as prime minister,” Shah said.

He said Modi’s relatives had received little public attention despite his long career. “Modi ji’s family is known to the entire country, because Modi ji has considered India his family,” Shah said.

The Vadnagar programme featured a Maha Aarti, a march to Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple, a Vadnagar-to-Varanasi service journey and a cleanliness drive. A bike yatra connected Modi’s birthplace with his parliamentary constituency.

Shah recalled Padma Awards before 2014 and said influential circles often influenced recommendations. He said the awards later recognised community workers across states and regions.

Shah concluded that PM Modi’s life could be summed up in two words — “Bharat First”. He said Modi had dedicated himself to the welfare of the country and its people.
