Gallantry Meal to e awarded to Punjab DSP and his team
Deputy Superintendent of Punjab Police Bikramjit Singh Brar and four members of his squad have been presented with the President’s gallantry medal for eliminating two gunmen involved in the assassination of musician Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, officials said on Thursday. On July 20, 2022, in Amritsar, the two gangsters, Manpreet Singh alias Mannu and Jagroop Singh alias Roopa, were brought to justice. In May 2022, singer Sidhu Moosewala passed away.
Bikramjit Singh Brar’s team awarded with President’s Gallantry medal
On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, Brar was awarded the President’s gallantry medal along with four other police officers who were part of his five-person team: Sub-Inspector Rahul Sharma, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Jagjit Singh, Baljinder Singh, and Head Constable Surinderpal Singh.
Officers of Punjab awarded with distinguished medal
A release said that Assistant Inspector General (Intelligence) Swarandeep Singh, chief of the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), and senior IPS officer Promod Ban had been chosen for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Gallantry medals were awarded to DSP Dalbir Singh, ASI Malkeet Singh, and late senior constable Mandeep Singh (posthumously), according to the announcement.

16 personnel to receive Medal for Meritorious Service
16 personnel were chosen to receive the Medal for Meritorious Service, including DSP Mansa Kuldeep Singh, DSP Gurjitpal Singh, Joint Director (Complaint Cell) of the Vigilance Bureau, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Harvinder Singh Virk.
A group of 14 officials, including Jalandhar Rural Senior SP Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Jalandhar Mandeep Singh, and DSP SAS Nagar Gursher Singh, have been chosen to receive the Chief Minister’s Medal in recognition of their exceptional dedication to their duties.
Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police (DGP) for Punjab, congratulated the recipients and thanked the federal and state governments for recognizing the officers’ contributions.
