PM Modi and Republic Day Chief Guest Macron Engage in Massive Roadshow in Jaipur, Key Highlights

French President Emmanuel Macron, the distinguished guest for this year’s Republic Day festivities. He is set to embark on a cultural journey with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exploring notable heritage sites and participating in a grand roadshow.

Key Highlights of the Event:

1. Macron’s visit included a cultural event at Amer Fort.
2. Prime Minister Modi and President Macron toured Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by a spectacular joint roadshow from Jantar Mantar to Sanganeri gate, with a special stop at Hawa Mahal.
3. The leaders are expected to enjoy Jaipur’s renowned masala chai at Hawa Mahal and explore handicraft kiosks for items like blue pottery and famous inlay work, facilitating transactions through BHIM UPI.
4. A private dinner at the Rambag Palace is scheduled in honor of President Macron.
5. Amid ongoing negotiations between the Indian government and France for substantial defense deals, discussions on the procurement of 26 Rafale fighter jets and three Scorpion submarines are anticipated.

6. France, being India’s second-largest arms supplier, has maintained a longstanding and robust partnership with the country.

9. In July of the previous year, PM Modi was the Guest of Honour at France’s Bastille Day celebrations.
