Father-Son Hit By Truck Late night, Die After Being Run Over By Several Other Vehicles

In the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, a 36-year-old man and his eight-year-old son died after their scooter was struck by a truck and then numerous cars ran them over, according to the police.

Incident happened on National Highway 31

According to a Kotwali police station officer, the deceased man’s wife, who was also sitting on scooter suffered serious injuries in the collision. The incident happened on National Highway 31 in the Dus Dargah area when the three were driving back to Jalpaiguri town on Friday night after attending a birthday party, he said.

Woman receiving medical treatment

The father and son were hit by a speeding truck, which caused them to fall onto the highway. Several cars then ran over them, according to the officer. He said that after hearing their cries, locals hurried them to Jalpaiguri Medical College and Hospital, where medical professionals declared the man and his son dead and sent the woman to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri for medical care.

While residents held a demonstration on Saturday calling for the installation of lights in the area but the police believed the incident occurred because of the fog.
