We often don’t eat lunch on time for several of reasons. Sometimes, it might be any urgent meeting that came without notice or fatigue after work which did not allow you to cook till late after reaching home. In fact, the very basic principles of diet start to lose their meaning as a result of unpredictable schedules and hectic city life.

Rujuta Diwekar, a well-known celebrity nutritionist who has with actors such as Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Alia Bhatt, released an Instagram reel on eating a late lunch and how it affects your stomach during this time.

If you have lunch late, your acidity levels may rise and affect how well you digest. Rujuta Diwekar recommends eating lunch between 11 am and 1 pm.

“Delayed lunch producing gas, headache, and acid reflux? Here are three simple tips to prevent suffering, the dietician wrote in the caption.

Grab a glass of water and sip it slowly: Water not only lessens acid reflux issues, but also the signs and symptoms of GERD. After a meal, drinking water slowly can also help to prevent the gas formation, which won’t give you a headache.

Have a pulpy fruit: If you aren’t eating lunch between 11 am and 1 pm, you should preferably have a banana, custard apple, or chikoo. Fruits help to reduce stomach acidity and prepare the stomach for meal digestion. Dates are a good alternative to fruit, the expert advised.

In order to completely avoid headache or acidity when you finally have lunch, make sure you finish it with ghee or jaggery. Cucumbers, melons, chewing gum, and apple cider vinegar (ACV) diluted in water are some other ways to lessen acidity.
