Ex-IRS Officer Kills His Wife For Property, Hides In House For 24 hours, Arrested

An ex-Indian Revenue Service officer, age 62, was detained on Monday for murdering his wife, a Supreme Court attorney, in their bungalow in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, after committing the crime on Sunday, the accused, Ajay Nath, hid in the bungalow’s store room.

Renu Sinha, the 61-year-old victim was called by her brother several times over the course of two days but when the phone went unanswered he was worried and called the police.

The Police found Renu’s dead body in the bathroom after forcibly entering the home. Her spouse, who had been missing since the incident and was being held accountable for the crime by Renu’s brother, he couldn’t be reached since his phone had been switched off. Additionally, the brother disclosed that the couple frequently argued.

After that, cops started looking for him and eventually found him in the bungalow’s store room. According to reports, Ajay Nath locked the home and sought cover in the abandoned store on the terrace. He was then detained and brought in for interrogation.

Ajay Nath admitted during questioning that he had intended to sell their property for Rs 4 crore and had even received an advance but that his wife opposed selling the property. The lawyer who passed away had been battling cancer and had only one month prior been declared cancer-free.

Renu may have died from severe blood loss, according to preliminary investigation, but the postmortem report will determine the precise cause of death. Further investigation is underway.
