El Nino is a climatic phenomenon that represents abnormal warming of surface waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean. El Nino is a complex meteorological phenomenon caused by changes in water temperatures in the Pacific region near the equator.
International weather experts say that El Nino and La Nina are complex weather patterns that occur due to variations in ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean region. These are opposite phases of the El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) cycle. The important thing to note about these weather patterns is that due to El Nino the temperature becomes hot, while due to La Nina the weather becomes cold.
