ED Recovers Rs 35.23 Crore Cash From Domestic Help Of Jharkhand Minister’s Secretary

Enforcement Directorate has recovered a total of Rs 35.23 crore from of Sanjiv Lal’s domestic help, the personal secretary of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister and senior Congress leader Alamgir Alam, according to authorities.

On Monday night, ED officers removed steel trunks containing recovered cash from the home.

This recovery is related to current investigation about the case of Jharkhand Rural Development Department Chief Engineer Virendra K Ram.

In 2019 an enormous sum of money was recovered from one of his subordinates. Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the ED thereafter assumed control of matter.

In February 2023, the Enforcement Department (ED) detained Virendra K. Ram in connection with a money laundering case due to irregularities in implementation of several schemes.

After conducting many searches in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and a few other locations in Jharkhand, Bihar, and Delhi on February 21, 2023, the ED was able to catch him.
