Delhi Court To Pass Verdict On Air Hostess Geetika’s Suicide Case

A former air hostess of Kanda’s MLDR airlines who had later been promoted to director of one of Kanda’s companies was discovered dead at her Ashok Vihar home in North West Delhi on August 5, 2012.

A verdict will be delivered by a delhi court on july 25 in the abetment case of suicide of the air hostess.Former haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanada is an accused in the case. Special Judge Vikas Dhull, adjourned the matter for July 25 which was scheduled on 20 july.

The suicide note

Geetika sharma,was found dead a day after writing a suicide note. The letter was written on August 4,she said she was ending her life due to the alleged harassment she was facing by Kanda and the other person.

Charges against kanda

The trial court had framed charges of Sections 376 (rape) and 377 (unnatural sex) on Kanda in addition to other offenses under the Indian Penal Code, however the Delhi High Court eventually quashed these charges.

Kanda is accused of violating Sections 306 (criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), 201 (evidence destruction), 120B (abetting suicide), and 466 (forgery).

Kanda, an influential politician and businessman, was a minister in the erstwhile Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress government. He was forced to resign as minister of state for home following the registration of the case.
