The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has received permission from the Army to construct the Shri Bade Hanuman Mandir Corridor along the Sangam coast. The project, valued at Rs 38.18 crore, will be execute in two phases, with the first phase to complete by December and the second phase to follow after the Maha Kumbh festival.
A land exchange process is underway, where the PDA will provide 11,186 square meters of land to the Army in exchange for 19 thousand hectares of land in Niwan. PDA officials have inspected the site and will demolish old buildings and remove encroachments before commencing construction.

The corridor’s construction aims to streamline entry and exit points, relocate shops selling worship materials and prasad, and create six gates at the Shri Bade Hanuman Temple. The project includes:
– Demolition of old buildings and removal of encroachments
– Construction of new buildings on the temple premises
– Streamlined entry and exit points
– Relocation of shops selling worship materials and prasad
– Creation of six gates at the Shri Bade Hanuman Temple
– Construction of 40 shops for distribution of puja materials and prasad
The first phase will focus on all areas except the sanctum sanctorum, which will be constructed at the present temple site after the Maha Kumbh. The PDA had planned to establish a committee for temple management but has put the matter on hold due to disputes. Officials assure that the committee’s formation revisit after construction is complete.
