Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Begins ‘Nyay Sankalp Padyatra’ Today From Mumbai

Rahul Gandhi, a prominent member of the Congress party, began the ‘Nyay Sankalp Padyatra’ on Sunday morning, from Mahatma Gandhi’s residence in South Mumbai, Mani Bhavan.

Along with Congress supporters, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, joined the foot march that will last until August Kranti Maidan, the site of the 1942 Quit India movement, where began India’s fight for independence from British rule.

Some opposition INDIA bloc members accompanied Rahul Gandhi on the padyatra.

The Congress MP paid respect to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar at his memorial, “Chaityabhoomi,” in central Mumbai on Saturday, concluding his 63-day “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,” and he recited the Preamble of the Constitution.

The yatra, a large-scale outreach initiative in advance of the Lok Sabha elections, had started on January 14 in conflict-torn Manipur.

In a show of strength, the opposition INDIA group will rally here on Sunday night. MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Tejashwi Yadav, the head of the RJD, and Akhilesh, the chief of the SP, are all expected to attend the event.
