Chandrayaan-3 Will Land On The Moon In 40 To 45 Days After Completing Various Phases, Read Here For More Details

India’s much-awaited Chandrayaan-3 is ready to go to the moon. Today i.e. on July 14 at 2:35 pm, it will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sri Harikota, Andhra Pradesh. Not only the country but the entire world is eyeing this mission. Chandrayaan-3 will be launched from ISRO’s most reliable rocket LVM. To go to the moon, Chandrayaan-3 will have to pass through several stages. According to the information received, Chandrayaan-3 may take 40 to 45 days to reach the Moon passing through these different stages. Let us know here about all these special steps…

Chandrayaan-3 Launch: Chandrayaan-3 will reach the moon in 10 steps

First phase – Chandrayaan-3 will be launched today at 2:35 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sri Harikota, Andhra Pradesh. It will reach the moon in a total of 10 steps. The first phase consists of its Earth-centric activities which include Earth-related tasks. This first phase also includes three steps, including pre-launch, launch, and taking the rocket into space, as well as operating Chandrayaan-3 through several orbits around the Earth. In this first phase, Chandrayaan-3 will make a total of 6 rounds of the earth before entering the second phase.

Second phase- After the first phase, Chandrayaan-3 will reach the second phase, which is named Lunar Transfer Phase. In this phase, the trajectory is shifted and the spacecraft starts its journey from geostationary orbit towards the Moon. In this phase, only the rocket is sent toward the moon.

Third phase- The third phase of Chandrayaan-3 to go to the moon is LOI i.e. Lunar Orbit Insertion. From this phase, Chandrayaan-3 is sent to the moon’s orbit.

Fourth phase- The fourth phase of Chandrayaan-3 will start after the third phase. This phase is also known as the orbit maneuver. Here Chandrayaan-3 will perform seven to eight orbit maneuvers to raise its orbit to about 100 km above the lunar surface.

Fifth phase- After the fourth phase, the fifth phase of Chandrayaan-3 begins. In this phase, the propulsion module and the module will be separated from each other.

Sixth Phase- After the fifth phase, Chandrayaan-3 has the sixth phase i.e. D-boost phase. Here the velocity of Chandrayaan-3 will decrease in the direction in which it is going.

Seventh phase- After the sixth, the seventh phase of Chandrayaan-3 will come. This includes the pre-landing phase. This phase i.e. pre-landing phase prepares for the landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon.

Eighth phase- After the seventh phase of Chandrayaan-3, its eighth phase begins. This phase includes the actual landing of Chandrayaan-3.

Ninth phase- The ninth phase is very special for Chandrayaan-3. In this phase, the lander and rover will reach the lunar surface and start their normal operations and activities.

Tenth stage – This stage is the return of the propulsion module to the 100-kilometer lunar orbit.
