Bihar Man Beaten To Death For Accidently Dailing Wrong Number

According to the Bihar Police, a 26-year-old man was fatally attacked after accidentally dialing the number in Bhojpur, Bihar, late on a Saturday night.

The victim, Rakesh Singh, the son of Surendra Singh from Majhauan village in Ara district.

According to a TOI report, Raushan Kumar, a friend of Rakesh’s and an eyewitness said, “We were standing near the Kali temple when Rakesh accidentally dialed the number of a fellow villager named Bhulchul, who became infuriated. An intense verbal altercation ensued over the phone between the two. Subsequently, around 9 pm, Bhulchul arrived at the scene and physically assaulted Rakesh by punching, kicking, and striking him with a stick. I was also subjected to an assault before Bhulchul left Rakesh unconscious near the temple. I managed to escape.”

Rakesh was brought dead to Sadar Hospital after being rushed there by his family. Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said, “The family of the deceased has filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Town police station against four people. Currently, the accused have absconded but the police have assured them to nab them soon.

Tragically, Rakesh had a state constable exam on the same day. This incident happened about a month after a disturbing occurrence that took place in the Katihar area of Bihar that involved a guy being brutally assaulted, having his head shaved, beard pulled out, and being forced to wear a garland of shoes. These steps were taken in response to a lady accusing him of molestation and harassment.
