Speaking on women’s safety, he said that the police has a special focus on women’s safety. Continuous work is being done to curb crimes against women. In the program, Upendra Rai, CMD of Bharat Express News Network, questioned the DGP of the state on an important issue related to security. He asked, “Tourism is an identity of Uttarakhand, many bureaucrats come here. Apart from this, it is also a big hub of education. A large number of people from cities like Delhi are living by building second homes. They also have a huge responsibility for their security. At the same time, these people will also have faith in you, how do you work for them?
In response to this question, DGP Uttarakhand Abhinav Kumar said, “The population here is around 1.25 crores, while the number of people coming here is around 7 crores. We are continuously working with the cooperation of the government. As you know, there is shortage of staff in every police force. We are trying to fill it on war footing. Our efforts will be to fill it on priority in the coming 6 months.”
He said that Prime Minister Modi had given the mantra of smart policing. Accordingly, we are trying to give better results by using technology. As better technology of drones has arrived in the coming days, we are working using it and AI.
CMD Upendra Rai also honored the DGP of the state. Praising the police, he said that population nearly equal to Britain comes to Uttarakhand and roams around in the valleys safely, which is really a subject to praise.
