Heavy rainfall has led to significant Bengaluru flood, inundating 1,079 houses across 30 regions. The Chief Minister’s Office reported extensive waterlogging following the downpour.
In response, officials have mobilized resources, including 30 teams from the Forest Department, one battalion from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), three teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), five teams from Fire and Emergency Services, and 30 teams from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). These teams are working to restore normalcy in the affected areas.
Rescue operations are underway, with 16 boats deployed to assist residents stranded in their homes. Additionally, around 25 pump sets are being used to drain water, while 30 JCBs clear silt from roads and residential areas.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar highlighted the severity of the situation, noting that the city experienced 300% more rainfall than usual for this time of year. After visiting the site of a collapsed building, where 21 laborers are feared trapped, he stressed the urgency of the rescue efforts.
Responding to Bengaluru flood, Shivakumar ordered officials to forcibly evacuate residents from the inundated Kendriya Vihar Apartment, where some families have refused to leave. “We will be accountable if anything happens,” he stated, underscoring the risks of remaining in flooded conditions.
The areas of Yelahanka, Mahadevapura, and Dasarahalli have been particularly hard-hit, with lakes overflowing and tank bunds breaking. Chowdeshwarinagar recorded an unprecedented 160 mm of rain, contributing to October’s total of 245 mm, one of the highest levels on record.
Evacuations continue, with at least 600 families and 2,500 individuals relocated from Kendriya Vihar. To support those affected, authorities have distributed 3,500 bottles of water, 1,000 liters of milk, 1,000 snack packets, and 6,600 food packets.
The city is working tirelessly to manage the aftermath of this devastating weather event, as residents face the challenges of recovery and restoration.
