“Arvind Kejriwal Will Run Government From Jail, Will Remain CM Of Delhi”: AAP Leader Atishi

On Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, AAP leader Atishi said that he will remain the CM of Delhi and will run the government from the jail, according to news agency ANI.

AAP leader Atishi said, “We have received news that ED has arrested Arvind Kejriwal… We have always said that Arvind Kejriwal will run the govt from jail. He will remain the CM of Delhi. We have filed a case in the Supreme Court. Our lawyers are reaching SC. We will demand SC have an urgent hearing tonight.”

Taking to X, formerly known as twitter, the leader said, “We have moved the Supreme Court for quashing the arrest of Delhi CM ArvindKejriwal by ED. We have asked for an urgent hearing by the Supreme Court tonight itself.”

Notably, Kejriwal was arrested the same day the Election Commission of India posted electoral bond data on its website.

An ED team showed up at the chief minister of Delhi’s home in the evening, just after the Delhi High Court denied him any interim protection from the coercive action.

Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia were detained during interrogation in this case, and they are still in judicial prison. Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, K. Kavitha, was also detained last week in relation with the case.
