Arvind Kejriwal Suspends Delhi Government Official Who Raped Deceased Friend’s Minor Daughter

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal ordered the suspension of Delhi Government official who was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl repeatedly and has sought the Chief Secretary to submit a report by 5 pm today.

Earlier today, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal sent a notice to Delhi Police demanding the arrest of the official who is a Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department of the Delhi Government.

An FIR was registered at the Burari police station against the Delhi official under several IPC sections and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused wife did not report the crime an FIR against her as well was lodged under Section 120-B(criminal conspiracy).

The victim lost her father in 2020 after which the minor started living at her uncle’s residence. The accused sexually harassed, physically molested, and raped the girl from October 2020 to February 2021. After being raped n number of times the minor became pregnant.

After the teenager’s trauma increased she was taken to a counselor to whom the victim revealed the agony and distress she has been through these years. As the counselling went deep she disclosed that the accused’s wife even forced her to eat abortion pills in order to terminate her pregnancy.
