Andhra Pradesh: Mother Kills Her Children; Planned to commit Suicide, Arrested

In Andhra Pradesh, a mother has been arrested on suspicion of killing her nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. Gangadevi, the mother, killed her children by suffocation and reported the murder to the authorities on her own. She also disclosed to the authorities her intention to take her own life.

The Jalahalli police reach the crime site quickly, showed up, and took Gangadevi into custody.

Working for a private marketing company, Gangadevi had previously reported her husband for misbehaving with the kids. Her spouse was jailed after being detained in a POCSO case as a result of her allegation.

However, police is still trying to identify the reason behind the drastic step. DCP Saidulu Adavath said Gangadevi was facing difficulty in making ends meet and was very disturbed by her situation. “We received the call around 1 am in the night. When we reached the spot, the woman confessed she killed the children. Based on this prima facie information, we have registered the FIR,” the DCP said.
