Speaking with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their mutual concern about terrorism, the region’s declining security, and the death toll among civilians in West Asia.
Modi stated in a post on X that they both agreed that it is imperative to address the security and humanitarian issues as soon as possible and that it is in everyone’s best interests to have long-lasting regional peace, security, and stability.
The two leaders spoke over the phone as the Israel-Hamas conflict was raging.
According to a PMO statement, they also reaffirmed their commitment to advance bilateral cooperation in a number of fields within the parameters of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
“Had a good conversation with my brother HH @MohamedBinZayed, President of UAE, on the West Asia situation. We share deep concerns at the terrorism, deteriorating security situation and loss of civilian lives,” Modi said.
“We agree on the need for early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation and that a durable regional peace, security and stability is in everyone’s interest,” Modi added.
After Hamas attacked multiple Israeli cities on October 7, Israel launched a massive ground offensive in the Gaza Strip on behalf of its people.
