The Allahabad High Court has directed authorities to complete the investigation into a culpable homicide case involving a constable from Gahmar police station, Ghazipur, within six weeks. The constable is also accused of taking five lakh rupees in exchange for a promised job in the police. The division bench of Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and Justice Prashant Kumar issued the order while hearing a petition filed by Rajkishore Singh.
Constable Accused of Fraud and Homicide
The case revolves around allegations against constable Rakesh Pal and two others, with charges of culpable homicide and other related offenses. Rajkishore Singh, the complainant and chief priest of Sai Temple in Gahmar village, alleged that the constable took five lakh rupees from his son, Vikas Kumar Singh, promising him a police job.
When the job did not materialize, Vikas asked for the money back. According to the complaint, this led to his murder, allegedly at the hands of the constable and the other accused.
Court Orders Swift Investigation
The police are currently investigating the matter, and the petitioner has demanded a speedy, fair, and proper inquiry. The High Court has instructed the investigating authorities to complete their probe within six weeks to ensure timely justice in the case.
