Two students from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, shot their teacher in the leg in a shocking incident, and they later made a video calling themselves “gangsters”. The teenagers were charged with attempt to murder after being arrested within 24 hours. On its official ‘X’ handle, the UP Commissionerate Agra posted a blurry photo of the two boys.
”Taking immediate action on the incident of calling out the coaching operator under Khandauli police station area and injuring him by shooting him in the leg, both the accused were arrested in just 24 hours by Khandauli police station and the teams formed for arrest,” read the caption.
The teacher, identified as Sumit Kumar, is receiving treatment at a hospital. Sonam Kumar, a deputy commissioner of police, claimed that the incident happened outside a coaching centre in Khandoli town on Thursday, October 5. According to Mr. Kumar, the attack may have been motivated by a conflict between the students and the teacher’s older brother.
”The students are in police custody. They both were arrested on Friday morning after a case was registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code,” Mr Kumar said.
The boys said they would return in six months to shoot the teacher once more in the video. “I’ll be back in six months. The teens who were apprehended said, “I have to shoot him 40 times; there are 39 left.”
