1 Security Personnel Die As Armed Militants Attack Sleeping Officers In Manipur

Armed militants in Manipur on Wednesday targeted security personnel. One officer died in the attack, while one was injured, according to the report.

The attack happened near Devi Mandir on Wednesday morning

Security personnel were ambushed by armed bandits when they slept close to Ema Kondong Lairembi Devi Mandir on Wednesday morning at approximately four in the morning. As per reports, the miscreants attacked from the hilltop of Chikim Village using live ammunition and rocket-propelled grenades (RPG).

IRB Post, situated only 20 meters away, Assam Rifles used bulletproof trucks to protect IRB staff and retaliated against the attackers. After the first attack at the Ema Kondong Lairembi IRB Post, the armed miscreants attacked security officers stationed at the SBI Bank Building Dekhunai Resort at approximately 5:10 am, according to the report.

The militants used a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) from Moreh, and the Superintendent of Special Commando took cover here. One IRB employee was injured during this second ambush and taken to hospital for medical treatment.
