Working With Dharmendra In ‘RRKPK’ Was “Like Straight Out Of Fantasy,” Says Ranveer Singh

Actor Ranveer Singh describes working with iconic actor Dharmendra in the coming romantic drama movie ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ as “like straight out of fantasy.”

In New Delhi during an interview, the actor stated, “I definitely had a moment on the first day I shot with Dharam ji. I was taking my moment before the scene started, it was a face-to-face shot with him, I was just processing the scene, and they said roll, camera and I looked up to begin the performance and that’s where it hit me, and I was like Ohh my God!! Its Dharmendra and I had to very quickly collect myself and perform because action has been called, but I definitely had a moment, it was very very surreal to be sharing screen space with such a legend of our cinema. A huge deal for me, I’ve grown up watching him, so it was like straight out of your fantasy.”

At the event, Mr. Singh mimicked Dharmendra and entertained the audience, and said, “What should we say about Dharam ji, he is like a walking talking ball of love, he is all heart, he is so emotional. Now I am remembering that we have really created some memories while making this film which I will always cherish. What a great honor, what a great privilege, and what a wonderful thing to have collaborated with such a fine artist.”

The movie, directed by Karan Johar, will be released in theatres on July 28 with an amazing cast that includes Ranveer, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in key roles.

The film’s official trailer and songs “What Jhumka” and “Tum Kya Mile,” which were just released by the producers, earned overwhelmingly positive reviews from the audience.

The teaser gave us a glimpse into the polar opposite lifestyles of Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee. While Rani hails from a Bengali family where education and intelligence are highly respected, Rocky is a Punjabi boy from an affluent Punjabi family. And they start dating, but they quickly learn that their families don’t get along. Rocky and Rani then choose to “Switch” and ‘ and live with each other families to impress them.

With a great cast, grandeur, and music, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” promises to be a wholesome, big-screen entertainment. It is directed by Karan Johar. There were several scenes of the two arguing and enjoying one another, as well as moments in which they were likely to be married and celebrate a variety of holidays with their families. After a break of more than six years, Karan is back in the director’s chair with “RRKPK.”
