‘Planned To Produce ‘Dil Bechara 2′, But Realised I Shouldn’t Touch That Film’: Director Mukesh Chhabra

Filmmaker and casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently discussed about producing sequil of Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi movie, Dil Bechara. According to Chhabra, the Rajput will always own the movie title and he wants to keep the film’s beauty intact.

The director said, “I was genuinely planning on making Dil Bechara 2. Dil Bechara is a very special film for me because of so many emotions attached to it and, of course, Sushant. So, I realised that I shouldn’t touch that film. I was making a film which I wanted to name ‘Dil Bechara 2’ but that title will always belong to Sushant. I don’t want to use that name. I don’t want to cash on that film ever now. I want to keep its beauty intact.”

The film that Sushant released in 2020 was his final one. One month after his passing, the film was made available on Disney Plus Hotstar. It was the first time the actor-director duo had worked together. They subsequently made the decision to collaborate once more. “We had discussions with Sushant about working together again shortly while we were filming Dil Bechara. I prefer to collaborate with individuals I have already worked with, such as Ayan (Mukerji) and Ranbir (Kapoor).I also wanted to work with Sushant on three-four other films. It was my dream,” Mukesh said.
