The release of Kalki 2898 AD, which completely changed the game of Indian cinema, has come to a positive end in the first quarter of 2024. The numbers are much higher than the expectations of everyone. As a result, the first half of 2024 remains above the 5,000 crore mark at the Indian box office.
Now, when we talk about the box office business, the numbers tell us that June was the best month in terms of collection. This includes the numbers crossing over 1,200 crore. The major reason behind this is the outstanding performance of Kalki 2898 AD, which contributed over 60% of the box office for the month.
The cumulative box office for January-June releases stands at ₹5,015 crore, which is 3% higher than the same period in 2023, according to Ormax Media.
With its box office collections being over three times that of Fighter, which is the second-highest grosser of the year, just ahead of Hanu-Man, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is the highest-grossing film in the first half of 2024.
