In a recent interview, Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor shared his perspective on dealing with online negativity and reacted to the label of being ‘toxic’ in the eyes of some critics and trolls. This candid conversation was shared by Kapoor’s fans and offers insight into his approach to handling these challenges.
The talented actor began by stating that his absence from social media is a conscious choice, which spares him from direct interaction with online negativity. He expressed contentment with this decision and emphasized the importance of negativity in the life of an artist. Kapoor believes that both positive and negative feedback play a crucial role, in creating a balance in one’s creative journey.
Acknowledging the constant scrutiny actors face, he pointed out that many opinions and statements about him are not necessarily accurate. He advised taking such critiques with a pinch of salt. Kapoor also underscored that the image of himself, shaped by his films, characters, and media portrayals, is not his own. It belongs to the public and those who appreciate or criticize his work.
In light of the recent controversy surrounding him, Kapoor voiced his understanding and support for those fighting against toxic masculinity. He acknowledged that he has been linked to this cause due to certain statements he made. However, he stressed his view of the bigger picture, where the fight against toxic masculinity is more significant than personal feelings about the criticism directed at him.
The controversy emerged when Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor’s wife, disclosed a detail about their relationship in a video for Vogue India. She revealed that she keeps her lipstick minimal because her husband prefers the natural color of her lips.
While Alia may have intended this as a sweet insight into their relationship, it sparked a social media storm. Many users criticized Ranbir, labeling him a “toxic” husband and a “red flag” based on this seemingly trivial matter.
Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming project is the action thriller film “Animal,” set to release on December 1. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie also features Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna in prominent roles. Bollywood, with its stars and the controversies that often surround them, remains a dynamic and ever-evolving realm.
