PM Modi Hails Bihar Mandate, Says ‘Katta Government’ Will Never Return As He Targets Congress–RJD Bloc

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, celebrated the NDA’s emphatic triumph in the Bihar Assembly elections.

He described the mandate as a resounding endorsement of a ‘Viksit Bihar’ and criticised the opposition for what he termed ‘misleading narratives’ about vote tampering and caste-based polarisation.

PM Modi said the people of Bihar had decisively rejected the RJD’s model of governance, including what he referred to as the ‘MY formula’ and the era of jungle raj.

He added that their aspiration for progress had overridden ‘imaginary claims’ of vote theft circulated by the opposition.

Reasserting one of his most forceful campaign messages, the Prime Minister declared that the era of ‘Katta Sarkar’, a term he associated with RJD’s past rule, had ended permanently.

“When I used to speak about Jungle Raj and Katta Sarkar, the RJD did not object. But it disturbed the Congress. Today, I reaffirm that Katta Sarkar will never return to Bihar,” he said.

PM Modi also accused the Congress of weakening its partners, calling it a ‘parasite’ within alliances. He introduced the term ‘MMC — Muslim League Maoist Congress’ to describe what he alleged was the party’s ideological drift.

PM Modi Targets Infighting and Past Electoral Violence

The Prime Minister reiterated claims of ongoing friction within the RJD–Congress alliance, asserting that their internal disagreements would soon surface publicly.

He reminded the audience that the Congress has remained out of power in Bihar for 35 years and has similarly faded in other states such as Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Launching a sharp critique of the RJD, he said booth capturing and election violence, once common during their administration, had been eliminated. Today, he said, voters cast their ballots on the issues of development rather than fear.

PM Modi condemned remarks likening Chhath Puja to a ‘drama’, stating that neither the Congress nor the RJD had apologised. “One cannot expect them to respect Bihar’s rich traditions,” he remarked.

He also praised the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive, describing it as a significant step towards cleansing the electoral rolls.

He emphasised that young voters, particularly in Bihar, had supported efforts to purify voter lists, and urged all parties to strengthen their booth-level participation.
