UAE President Congratulates PM Modi On Successful BRICS Presidency

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday. The UAE President congratulated Prime Minister Modi on India’s successful BRICS Presidency.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi appreciated Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s participation in the BRICS Summit. He also thanked the UAE for its cooperation in delivering substantive outcomes under India’s Presidency. The UAE President conveyed warm birthday greetings to PM Modi.

Both leaders discussed measures to deepen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They focused on energy, defence, technology, investment and health.

The leaders exchanged views on developments in West Asia. They reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation and coordination to promote regional peace, security and stability.

“Grateful to my brother, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his call and birthday wishes,” PM Modi said on X. He said they discussed strengthening bilateral ties and efforts to promote regional stability.

Last week, Prime Minister Modi met Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Modi said India-UAE ties have transformed in recent years and highlighted areas including defence, artificial intelligence, space, critical minerals, energy, food security and connectivity.

He said the two countries were exploring greater cooperation in investment, strategic energy infrastructure and India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) connectivity.

“At a time of uncertainty in West Asia, a strong India-UAE is a symbol of stability, prosperity and peace,” Prime Minister  Modi said.

During the meeting, PM Modi appreciated the UAE’s active and constructive participation in BRICS under India’s Chairship.
