Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that “good governance and development won” after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a sweeping victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
He congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other NDA leaders, saying voters rewarded the government’s performance and vision to advance Bihar’s development.
PM Modi described the mandate as a clear endorsement of the NDA’s development agenda.
He praised party workers and supporters who “engaged with the public, highlighted our achievements, and countered every opposition claim.”
The election outcome sent a strong message about voter priorities.
Analysts observed that Bihar voters focused on governance and delivery rather than identity politics.
By winning over 200 seats, the NDA proved that performance, not narrative, dominated the electorate’s decision-making.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reinforced PM Modi’s statement. He called the results a victory for every Bihari who believes in a “Developed Bihar.”
He warned that those practising “Jungle Raj” would no longer find opportunities to exploit the system. Amit Shah asserted that performance-based politics now defines the state.
The opposition faced a harsh reality check. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its allies failed to counter the governance narrative.
Their leaders admitted organisational and messaging weaknesses.
Congress described the outcome as a “total failure of organisation,” highlighting the party’s inability to connect with voters effectively.
Political analysts say the Bihar result signals a broader shift in Indian politics.
Electoral success now increasingly depends on tangible governance and delivery rather than caste or identity-based calculations.
PM Modi’s post-victory remarks summed it up: “The people have given us a massive majority after witnessing our track record and our vision to take the state to new heights.”
As counting continues, the NDA’s mandate reflects electoral dominance and represents a public referendum on effective governance.
Bihar voters have sent a clear signal: in India’s evolving political landscape, delivery and development outweigh rhetoric.
