The plot of Jawan has been kept under wraps for the last two years, with the only component circulating being Shah Rukh Khan’s USP as a dual character. Except for the true source of content, several rumors have circulated in the media about the plot and possible locations from which the film was inspired. However, Shah Rukh Khan is inspired by these two movies of Amitabh Bachchan.
According to insiders close to the project, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was influenced by Amitabh Bachchan’s Aakhree Raasta, which was an official remake of Kamal Haasan’s Tamil film, Oru Kaidhiyin Diary. “Akhree Raasta and Oru Kaidhiyin Diary” starred Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan as father and son. Similarly, Shah Rukh Khan plays both a father and a son in Jawan. “Jawan, like Akhree Raasta, is a revenge story with the same conflict points,” a source told
Atlee is a major fan of the Kamal Haasan original and based the main plot on the Oru Kaidhiyin Diary. “However, it is not a remake but rather an inspiration.” Atlee has adapted the fundamental premise into a new story for today’s audience. “The emotions are the same, but the treatment is very modern,” the person added.

Jawan is set to be released on June 2, 2023, and further details about the plot will be revealed in the coming days. The characters, their traits, and their trajectory are undoubtedly in line with the world of Oru Kaidhiyin Diary, whether it is an actual remake or a casual inspiration.
