According to insiders close to the project, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was influenced by Amitabh Bachchan’s Aakhree Raasta, which was an official remake of Kamal Haasan’s Tamil film, Oru Kaidhiyin Diary. “Akhree Raasta and Oru Kaidhiyin Diary” starred Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan as father and son. Atlee and Kamal Hasan
Atlee is a major fan of the Kamal Haasan original and based the main plot on the Oru Kaidhiyin Diary. “However, it is not a remake but rather an inspiration.” Atlee has adapted the fundamental premise into a new story for today’s audience. “The emotions are the same, but the treatment is very modern,” the person added.
