Adani Defence & Aerospace, through Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Ltd (ADSTL), has acquired a majority stake in Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC) for ₹820 crore.
The company views this deal as a major leap toward building a full-stack aviation-services platform that spans maintenance, overhaul, and pilot training.
FSTC is India’s largest independent flight-training and simulation provider.
It operates 11 full-flight simulators and manages a fleet of 17 training aircraft. Its centres in Gurugram and Hyderabad carry certifications from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The company also runs prominent flying schools in Bhiwani and Narnaul in Haryana.
Adani Defence now plans to integrate FSTC with its existing maintenance and overhaul businesses, including Air Works and Indamer Technics.
The group aims to create a comprehensive aviation ecosystem that trains commercial pilots and supports defence-training requirements.
CEO Ashish Rajvanshi said the rising demand for certified pilots makes expanded training capacity critical.
Indian airlines plan to induct more than 1,500 aircraft in the coming years, sharply increasing the need for skilled cockpit crews.
Demand in the defence sector is also rising because of the growing requirement for advanced pilot training and mission-rehearsal capabilities.
FSTC has already outlined strong expansion plans across civil and defence aviation. The acquisition allows Adani Defence to tap both markets and accelerate growth.
The consolidation also strengthens the Adani Group’s position within India’s aviation-services ecosystem. ADSTL will manage the expanded aviation portfolio through its joint venture.
Horizon Aero Solutions Limited (HASL), created with Prime Aero Services LLP, will support this expanded operational framework.
This structure will support rapid scaling in training, maintenance, and advanced simulation. The deal demonstrates strong confidence in aviation training as a long-term growth sector.
Simulator-based training offers lower costs, high safety, and efficient scalability, making FSTC a strategic asset as aviation expands.
With this acquisition, Adani Defence aims to strengthen India’s flight-training ecosystem, address pilot shortages, and support the nation’s aviation growth across airlines and armed forces.
