Delhi Airport advises passengers to allow extra travel time as security checks, traffic diversions and Metro closures disrupt movement across the capital.

Delhi Airport Urges Flyers To Plan Journeys Ahead Amid Protest-Related Traffic Restrictions

Delhi Airport has urged passengers to plan their journeys in advance amid heightened security and traffic restrictions linked to the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) planned protest on Saturday.

In a travel advisory, the airport asked passengers travelling to and from the facility to allow additional commuting time.

“In view of the enhanced security arrangements and anticipated traffic restrictions in Delhi, passengers travelling to and from Delhi Airport are advised to plan their journeys and allow additional time for their commute,” the airport said.

It encouraged travellers to consider alternative transport options, including cabs and city buses, to reach the airport. The advisory urged passengers to cooperate and travel safely.

The advisory follows traffic diversions announced by Delhi Police ahead of the CJP’s unauthorised demonstration.

Police have advised commuters to allow extra time when travelling to railway stations, inter-state bus terminals (ISBTs) and the airport through New Delhi and Central Delhi.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid non-essential journeys. Traffic arrangements will remain flexible and may change according to real-time assessments of the situation.

Commuters can access live updates, alternative routes and traffic alerts through the official Delhi Traffic Police website and social media channels.

Security measures include internet restrictions around the Janpath-Kartavya Path area in Central Delhi. Authorities have closed 45 Delhi Metro stations from 9 p.m. on Friday until Saturday evening.

The measures form part of broader security arrangements ahead of the planned protest in the national capital.

Authorities urged passengers to check traffic updates before leaving and allow extra time for airport journeys.
