In Tamil Nadu’s Manali New Town, close to Chennai, an 84-year-old bedridden woman was discovered living with her dead daughter’s corpse for at least four days, according to police on Wednesday.
When neighbors and the home’s owner complained about a bad stench coming from inside the property, the police stated they arrived at the scene.
The dead body was found by the Manali New Two police when they arrived at the scene after receiving a complaint.

According to the police, the mother, named Jomine, and her daughter, Sheela, had been living alone in a rental home in the town’s Avadi neighborhood for a number of years.
A senior police officer stated, “We went to the unlocked house on Tuesday and found the bedridden mother who was unresponsive to anything.”
The police also discovered the daughter dead on the floor in the other room, with her corpse in a rotting state, according to the officer. According to him, she might have been dead for four days or longer.
According to the police, the woman’s body was taken to the government hospital for a post-mortem, where it was determined that her death was due to natural causes.

The mother has been taken to Anbagam, an NGO that operates a senior citizen rehabilitation home in Chennai.
