Jamia Millia Islamia Boosts Result Efficiency With New Evaluation Hall

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has taken a major step to enhance its academic infrastructure by inaugurating a new Evaluation Hall at the Office of the Controller of Examinations.

Vice Chancellor Prof Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi formally inaugurated the new Evaluation Hall, joined by Prof Pawan Kumar Sharma, Controller of Examinations, and Prof Ahteshamul Haque, Deputy Controller of Examinations.

Located on the second floor of the CoE building, the air-conditioned hall features modern seating, secure storage, and ample space to host evaluators and observers efficiently. It also serves as a consolidated hub for all evaluation-related activities, thereby streamlining operations under one roof.

Rapid progress in entrance result declarations

The event highlighted that JMI has already declared over 80% of its entrance results, putting it far ahead of peer institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Asif praised the exam department for its diligence, stating, “This achievement is a direct result of the unwavering efforts by the CoE, Deputy CoE, and our administrative staff over the last three months.”

He emphasised his vision of fostering an ecosystem grounded in positivity, integrity, and happiness, noting that the timely disbursement of promotions and salaries was crucial for staff motivation and productivity.

“This is the philosophy driving our administration—and the results speak for themselves,” he added.

Registrar Prof Rizvi expressed confidence that JMI is on track to move from third to second position in the NIRF rankings if faculty and staff continue working in harmony.

He further described the new hall as a symbol of Jamia’s commitment to quality, transparency, and fairness.

“The fact that our entrance exams were entirely conducted in-house, without any third-party involvement, is not just efficient—it is unprecedented,” he remarked.

A vision for excellence

Prof Sharma, Controller of Examinations, credited the leadership of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar for the university’s progress and gave a comprehensive overview of the ongoing admission and examination-related work.

He also thanked faculty members for completing evaluations and marking submissions on time, facilitating early result announcements.

Prof Ahteshamul Haque revealed that the Vice Chancellor and Registrar originated the idea of the Evaluation Hall, and their guidance enabled its implementation in record time.

The ceremony concluded with a tree plantation drive by university officials, followed by a programme anchored by Dr Sunil and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Khalid Raza.
