President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia has a sufficient stockpile of cluster bombs and that Moscow has the right to deploy them if such munitions are used against Russian forces in Ukraine.
“Of course, if they are used against us, we reserve the right to take reciprocal action”, Putin said in a state television interview, extracts of which were published on Sunday.
The United States has provided Ukraine with cluster bombs, which are prohibited in over 100 countries.
Kyiv has promised to use them exclusively to disperse hostile troop concentrations.
