India defeated New Zealand by four runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in a rain-interrupted second ODI at Wellington on Saturday.
The visitors reached 113/7 in 26 overs while chasing 135 when persistent showers forced the match officials to abandon the contest.
India remained three runs above the DLS par score, securing victory despite a dramatic batting collapse.
India’s pursuit suffered an early setback when Jacob Duffy dismissed captain Shubman Gill for a golden duck. Duffy subsequently removed Virat Kohli (7), leaving India under pressure.
Rohit Sharma scored 23 before Kyle Jamieson dismissed him. Axar Patel departed for seven, reducing India to 47/4.
Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul attempted to stabilise the innings through a 39-run partnership. Iyer contributed 30 before Jamieson broke the stand.
Rahul remained unbeaten on 26, while Naman Dhir scored 12. Jamieson and Duffy claimed three wickets each as India struggled at 113/7.
