A devastating road accident struck the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Alwar early Tuesday at around 5:00 AM, killing three people and injuring 33 others.
The collision occurred near the Channel Number 100 interchange culvert in the Pinan area, leaving the site severely damaged and chaotic.
According to initial reports, a passenger bus travelling from Indore to Delhi rammed into a chemical-laden truck moving ahead.
The force of the impact completely mangled the front portion of the bus. Most passengers were asleep, and the sudden crash left many seriously injured and traumatised.
Police teams reached the spot quickly and, with help from local residents, launched rescue operations. They pulled injured passengers from the wreckage and transported them to nearby hospitals by ambulance.
Authorities briefly halted traffic on the expressway before restoring normal movement.
The crash claimed the lives of the bus driver, his wife, and their son. Officials placed their bodies in the mortuary at the Community Health Centre in Reni.
The driver’s three-year-old daughter survived with minor injuries, and authorities handed her over to local police after first aid.
Of the 33 injured, doctors referred 31 to hospitals in Alwar due to critical conditions. Medical staff at the Pinan facility provided initial treatment before arranging transfers.
The bus had departed Indore at about 9:00 PM and met with the accident soon after reaching the Pinan stretch.
Authorities have begun investigating the cause, considering factors such as speed, visibility, and driver fatigue.
All injured passengers continue to receive treatment as officials monitor their condition closely.
